Chapter 1:

Talking to the dearly departed can be very draining!

I normally tried to avoid it. Lately though, I find myself tuning into the dead-zone more often than not. Tonight was no exception. I was doing readings at a girls’ party held at the Lemp Mansion, an infamous haunted B&B in town. Every time I was there I always found a really strong connection with the spirits that haunt the mansion, especially the female spirits.

I set myself up in the Lavender Lady’s bedroom and waited to feel their presence. Both of the female spirits came into the room almost immediately. I knew instinctively they were there to keep the male spirits at bay. Men, even dead ones, could be a problem at times.

I breezed through my first client without any issues. Once I got started with my second client, the crying started. She’d lost both her parents in the last two years and wanted to know if I could contact them.

The last thing I wanted to do was to medium here, given the haunted climate. As I explained to her I wasn't sure if I could because of the spirits that were already there, I heard a soft female voice whisper in my mind, “We will help you.”

Shit! As soon as I heard her voice the woman's mother jumped forward.

Here's the thing. Whenever I do this I really have no clue what I'm saying. I sort of separate myself and let whoever needs to come through to talk. I always feel so bad when something I say makes them cry and the harder the poor girl cried, the harder it was for me to stay separate. My mentor taught me a long time ago that tears are release so I knew that she’d finally been able to make peace with her parent’s passing.

After I finished doing the readings I hung out for a while going through the various rooms with my group and telling them what I felt. I was on my way out when I leaned my hand against the outside wall of the nursery and heard the female voice again whisper in my mind, "Beware, he's coming!"
